Growatt BMS BDC 95045-A1 + Base and Cable Set – for ARK XH batteries

The Growatt BMS BDC 95045-A1 is the brain of the Growatt ARK XH battery system. This BMS/power module controls the communication, safety and control of the ARK battery modules towards your hybrid inverter. As a result, your inverter knows exactly what the battery is doing (SOC, current, voltage, temperatures) and can safely charge and discharge.

Important advantage of this version: you already get the Base and Cable Set with it. That saves searching for loose parts and makes the assembly nice and clear: Base → batteries → BMS (on top).

Compatibility

This BMS is intended for the Growatt ARK XH battery system and works in combination with:

• Growatt MIN-XH inverters
• Growatt MOD-XH inverters

Please note that this is a BMS for the XH line in combination with ARK batteries. Do not use it as a “universal” BMS for other battery series.

Capacity and expansion

The ARK XH system is modular and stackable. You expand storage by adding additional ARK battery modules. Depending on the inverter and configuration, you can think of a scale from 5.12 kWh to 17.92 kWh (and beyond in some configurations), for example, without having to reinvent the system.

Installation sequence

Correct assembly is very simple, but important:

1. Base on a flat, load-bearing surface
2. StackARK battery modules on the base
3. BMS (BDC 95045-A1) last on top of the stack

Firmware – required for correct operation

Operation often requires the latest firmware (for both inverter and battery/BMS). Updating can be done, for example:

• Remotely (via support)
• Via a temporary WiFi dongle
• Via a USB stick (firmware file required)

Pro-tip: connect signal cable to MOD XH (COM connector)

In the box of the BMS is a cable set. The signal cable is marked with W-, W+, B and A. If you connect the BMS to a MOD XH inverter, they belong on the rectangular signal connector as follows:

• A → COM pin 7
• B → COM pin 8
• W+ → COM pin 9
• W- → COM pin 10

Tip: after connecting, always take a picture of your pin assignment before closing the cover. This saves time when servicing or expanding.
