Growatt Shine RF Stick X2 – wireless monitoring via RF (LoRa) for Growatt inverters
The Growatt Shine RF Stick X2 is a compact RF data logger that you plug directly into the USB port of a Growatt inverter. The stick communicates wirelessly with an RF host (such as a ShineLanBox-X2 gateway or a GroHome Manager-X) and then transmits data to ShinePhone / ShineServer. This allows you to see production and status remotely as well as perform maintenance smarter.
When to choose the Shine RF Stick X2?
- Inverter is too far from the router (attic/barn/tech room)
- Don’t feel like pulling UTP or WiFi is unreliable at that location
- Several inverters at one location that you want to monitor centrally
Main advantages
- Stable RF connection
The stick uses LoRa (868/915 MHz), which in practice often gets through walls and floors better than standard WiFi. - Remote maintenance
Supports remote parameter settings and firmware updates (depending on the installation/environment and rights in the platform). - Local data buffer
In case of temporary interruption, data can be stored locally and run through/synchronise later. - IP65 enclosure
Extra fine when the inverter is hanging in a somewhat “rougher” environment (dust, moisture, shed).
Technical key data
- Mounting: USB direct plug (with lock)
- Protection: IP65
- RF: 860-930 MHz (868/915 MHz), range up to approx. 120 m (installation-dependent)
- Power supply via USB: 5V, typical consumption approx. 2.5W
- Temperature: -30°C to +60°C
Installation tips (saves 80% of “why don’t I have a connection” questions)
- Pay attention to orientation: position the stick with the mark correctly and tighten the latch securely.
- Avoid large metal obstacles between stick and RF host (metal meter box/steel plate = range-killer).
- Keep distance realistic: 120 m is ideal under good conditions; walls/floors reduce this.
- Use inverter-USB only: do not power via separate USB adapter.
Pairing (RF pairing) in brief
The Shine RF Stick X2 works as an RF slave. You put it in pairing mode (usually by double-clicking the button) and then add it via the app/host following the steps of your RF host.
Compatibility
Suitable for Growatt PV inverters with a USB port and intended for use with an RF host (such as ShineLanBox-X2 or GroHome Manager-X) for monitoring via Shine platforms.
