Installation tips for 6 mm² PV cable

• 1. Take voltage drop into account
  Especially for longer runs, it pays to use 6 mm² instead of 4 mm². Always check for voltage drop (e.g. max. 1-1.5% on the DC side at full load).
• 2. Pay attention to plus and minus
  This is a single-core cable. You therefore need at least two cores for one string: one for + and one for -. Use good quality crimp or MC4 connectors and clearly label the polarity.
• 3. Respect min. bend radius
  Avoid sharp bends; respect at least 5× the outside diameter as bending radius, especially when entering glands or bends in the pipe.
• 4. Protection at roof penetrations
  Use cable ducts, glands and, if necessary, extra casing at vulnerable points (roof penetration, sharp edges of brackets or profile).
• 5. Combine with good DC protection
  Make sure the cable is fitted with the right DC fuses, overvoltage protection and switch according to your inverter manufacturer’s requirements and standards.
