Hoymiles MS-A2 Plug-&-Play home battery (2.24 kWh)
The Hoymiles MS-A2 is an AC-coupled home battery that you simply plug between your micro inverter and your power socket. Thanks to the plug & play design, no major modifications to your existing balcony or small PV system are required. Using the S-Miles app (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth), you can set the charging and discharging times, monitor your energy and take advantage of favourable off-peak times.
The most important advantages
-
Simple 2-step installation – unplug, insert MS-A2, plug in.
-
Wide compatibility – works with common 230 V micro inverters.
-
Intelligent energy management – time-controlled charging/discharging and real-time monitoring in the app.
-
Emergency power on board – 1,000 W continuous power via integrated Schuko output (peak 1,200 VA for 10 s).
-
Safe and durable – LiFePO₄ cells, > 6,000 cycles, IP65 for indoor/outdoor use, natural cooling (no fans).

Installation and compatibility
-
Designed for single-phase 230 V microinverters with anti-islanding solution and CE compliance.
-
Place the MS-A2 between the microinverter and the socket; no DC adjustments required.
-
Take into account the maximum input power of 1,800 VA. Inverters up to approx. 1,000 W fit well into the specifications.
-
Mounting: Floor or wall mounting; ensure sufficient free space all round for natural convection.
Safety & standards
-
Battery technology: LiFePO₄; complies with the relevant safety and transport standards.
-
Earthing: Class I – earthing via the mains cable supplied.
-
Earth fault protection: A type B RCD/RCM is recommended on the supply side. According to the manufacturer’s declaration, a type B is not mandatory if installed correctly thanks to the galvanic HF insulation.
-
Always observe the local standards and installation/safety instructions.
Who is the MS-A2 ideal for?
