What do you use an MC4 Y-splitter for?

  • Check reverse current/fuse requirements: parallel strings may require string protection (fuses), depending on number of parallel strings, panel specifications and design rules.
  • Click = click: make sure connectors lock fully (do pull test), and avoid mechanical stress on cables.
  • Work de-energised: DC remains dangerous. Switch off, measure and work cleanly.
