Installation tips for do-it-yourselfers and installers
- 1. Check your mains connection
The SUN2000 17KTL-M2 is intended for a 3×400 V + N connection. With 3×230 V (without neutral), this inverter is not suitable. - 2. String design within voltage and current limits
Keep in mind the maximum 27 A per MPPT and the voltage range of 160-950 V. With modern panels (high Voc and Isc), it is important to check the Voc especially at low winter temperatures. - 3. Divide roof areas smartly between the 2 MPPTs
Place different orientations (e.g. south and east/west) on separate trackers. When using optimisers, you have more freedom, but it is still wise to group shading surfaces logically. - 4. Mount in a cool, accessible place
Choose a solid wall, out of direct sunlight and with enough free space around the inverter for cooling and service. - 5. Activate monitoring immediately
After commissioning, add the inverter in the FusionSolar app, set up communication and grid code and check that everything is cleanly online. - 6. Combine with optimizers if desired
With (partial) shade, different roof surfaces or long strings, Huawei SUN2000-450W-P optimisers give you more yield and panel-level monitoring.
