The SolarEdge Commercial Gateway expands the monitoring and control options of your PV system.
Link your inverters (RS485), energy meters and environmental sensorsin a centralised unit
and transmits all data via Ethernet to the SolarEdge Monitoring Platform (or optionally to an external data logger).

Notes on installation

Bus topology – wire RS485 as a daisy chain; terminate 120 Ω at both bus ends, no termination at intermediate points.
Cable selection – use shielded twisted-pair cables (A/B) and earth the shield at one end. Keep A→A and B→B consistent.
Addressing – assign unique Modbus addresses; baud rate/parity the same for all bus participants.
Uplink – set fixed IP/DHCP reservation; control port access for monitoring.
Sensors/PRI – connect sensor inputs according to scheme; test export limitation (PRI) with network management/meter configuration.

Bright green tip: Place the gateway centrally in the >RS485 network (short branches, avoid long buses) and
keep the uplink cable physically separated from the power cables to ensure interference-free recording.
