Step 2: Select the ideal inverter
For your set of 15 solar panels you can choose from several inverters. The popular Growatt inverter from China offers excellent value for money. These inverters are flexible, start up early and switch off late, which maximizes your yield. They are known for their quiet operation thanks to natural cooling.

If you are looking for a German quality inverter, the SMA inverters are a good choice. Although they are somewhat more expensive, they deliver excellent performance and the peak power is precisely matched.

For anyone who has shade on the roof, we recommend the Solaredge inverters. These inverters cope well with shade and only work in combination with a SolarEdge optimizer for every panel.

Please note: check which type of grid connection you have in order to choose the right inverter. For a 1-phase connection you can often use a larger single-phase inverter, while a 3-phase connection is better suited to a 3-phase inverter. Always take the safety regulations of NEN 1010:2015 into account when connecting the inverter to a dedicated circuit.

Step 3 + 4: Optimize and monitor your system
If your roof has shade, you can choose to optimize only the panels that catch shade. Tigo Energy offers a handy solution in which you only have to equip these panels with an optimizer, which saves costs. You can easily add the optimizers to your set afterwards.

Monitoring your solar panels is addictive! At Stralend Groen we offer various options for monitoring your set of 15 solar panels. You can view the yield graphs on your phone or computer 24 hours a day, in addition to the display on the inverter itself.

Step 5 + 6 + 7: Suitable mounting material for your roof
To determine the right mounting material for your roof, we ask you to tell us your roof type. After that you can indicate which hook, clip, screw, bracket or mounting foot you need. The price you see is for the complete mounting system including these fixing materials. Also choose whether you want to place the panels in portrait or landscape orientation. Landscape mounting is slightly more expensive because you then need more rails. We always supply the mounting rails horizontally. Do not forget to indicate the desired number of rows, so that we can calculate how many end pieces you need to install your complete solar panel set yourself.

Step 8: Cabling for your solar panel set
When installing a set of 15 solar panels yourself, cabling is essential. We supply the solar cable that runs from the inverter to the nearest panel and from the furthest panel back to the inverter. For panels that lie against each other, short cables are available, so that you do not need any extra meters. Give us the number of meters you need to connect the furthest panel, and we will supply this length twice (or four times if you have an inverter that can handle several strings). We crimp MC4 connectors onto the cables in advance, so that you do not have to buy a special crimping tool. Let us know if you would rather crimp the connectors yourself.

According to NEN 1010:2015 the panels must be earthed. With your order you can add an earthing cable with pre-mounted mounting screws. This means you do not have to buy a crimping tool. For the connection between the inverter and the meter cupboard you can use the YMVK cable. Choose a 3-core cable for a single-phase inverter and a 5-core cable for a 3-phase inverter.
