Esdec steel roof: mounting on trapezoidal sheeting and sandwich panels
An Esdec steel roof mounting set is intended for roofs with a steel roof covering: trapezoidal sheeting, sandwich panels and corrugated steel sheets. Where on a tiled roof you hook the roof hooks behind the battens, here you fix directly onto the roof sheet. That is done with blind rivets or with self-drilling screws, depending on how your roof is built up.
This set is put together for 4 panels in landscape, lying side by side in a single row. On a steel roof landscape is often the logical choice, because the rails then run in the same direction as the roof sheet and you need less rail.
What you still need to check
- Sheet thickness. Blind rivets need a minimum sheet thickness to grip reliably. Measure this before you order.
- Fixing into the crown. Always fix into the top of the corrugation, never into the troughs where water stands.
- Panel size. The module clamps in this Esdec steel roof set are universal, but do check the frame thickness of your panels.
- Insulation. With sandwich panels there is insulation behind the sheet; choose a screw length that does not pierce the core.
