Do I need this ATS?

Needed with: Growatt SPH three-phase (SPH 3000-6000) and SPH TL3 BH three-phase without “UP” on the type label, and with SPA battery inverters. On those inverters the EPS output is only live when the grid fails; the ATS automatically switches your backup circuit from grid to EPS and back.

Not needed with: Growatt SPH BL-UP (three-phase) and SPH TL3 BH-UP (three-phase). These have the changeover built in (UPS function, approx. 10 ms) and also feed the EPS port while the grid is present. Only if your grid operator or insurer requires an external mechanical separation can a UP still be combined with an ATS (setting EPS: Enable, Bypass: OFF).

Not sure which version you have? We supply the UP and non-UP versions interchangeably (usually UP). Check the type label on your inverter: if it says “-UP”, you do not need this ATS.
