The Growatt MOD 9000TL3-HU hybrid inverter efficiently converts your solar energy into usable AC power, while at the same time letting you store energy in a battery. With a nominal AC power of 9000 W and two independent MPPT trackers, you make the most of your PV strings. Moreover, this inverter has an integrated back-up function without a separate back-up box, so critical loads keep working even during a grid outage.
Future-proof technology with battery support
Battery-ready and modularly expandable
This inverter is battery-ready and works together with the compatible APX 5.0-30.0P-S2 battery (5 to 30 kWh). That lets you set different operating modes yourself, such as Load First, Battery First and Grid First. This way you easily optimise your self-consumption. The maximum charging power is 15 kW and the discharging power 9 kW. Thanks to the transformerless topology, the inverter achieves a maximum efficiency of 98.6% and a European efficiency of 98.1%, which ensures minimal energy loss.
Robust design for all weather conditions
IP66 protection for indoor and outdoor installation
The MOD 9000TL3-HU is protected to IP66 and is therefore suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation. The unit works reliably within an operating temperature range of -25 °C to +60 °C, with slight derating above 45 °C. Furthermore, the inverter offers reliable Type II surge protection on both the DC and the AC side. Accurate AFCI arc fault protection, insulation resistance monitoring and anti-islanding protection are part of the standard equipment as well. That keeps your installation performing safely and stably. Thanks to natural cooling, the noise level also stays low at a maximum of 29 dB(A).
Installation and mounting in practice
What to watch out for during installation
- Mount the inverter vertically with a maximum tilt angle of 15°.
- Drill the mounting holes with a Ø8 mm drill bit to a depth of 55 mm.
- Tighten the bracket fixing screws to 5 N·m.
- Keep at least 500 mm of free space around the unit for cooling.
- Set the DC switch to OFF before you connect the PV cables.
- Install an external AC circuit breaker on the grid side.
Always have the installation carried out by a qualified installer and follow the manufacturer’s official installation manual.
