The Huawei SUN2000-8K-MAP0 inverter is a versatile 8 kW 3-phase hybrid inverter for larger residential roofs, farms and small commercial installations. Thanks to the integrated battery interface you are already prepared for a home battery, while the maximum efficiency of 98.6% keeps conversion losses to a minimum. This Smart Energy Controller also features two independent MPP trackers, so you can make efficient use of panels on different roof surfaces.

Active safety and battery coupling
This inverter combines a high European efficiency of up to 98.0% with a wide voltage range of 160 to 1,000 V. As a result, the system starts up early and keeps producing until late in the day. The Huawei SUN2000-8K-MAP0 inverter pairs with the Huawei LUNA2000 batteries (LUNA2000-5/10/15-S0 and LUNA2000-7/14/21-S1), so you can store the solar power you generate yourself for later use. Together with the SmartGuard-63A-T0 the system also provides whole-home backup power. In addition, the unit supports an asymmetrical 3-phase output and even 200% overload for short periods, which is handy when starting heavy loads.

IP66 enclosure and quiet operation
Thanks to the IP66 protection rating you can install this inverter indoors or outdoors with ease, in all weather conditions. The unit operates within a temperature range of -25 to +60 degrees and cools entirely passively through natural convection. As a result it produces no more than 29 dB and remains exceptionally quiet. Numerous protections are built in as well, such as arc fault detection (AFCI), residual current monitoring, DC and AC surge protection and connector temperature detection. Installation and mounting in practice
What to watch out for during installation
- Drill the mounting holes with a diameter of 8 mm and keep at least 350 mm of free space on the right and left.
- Keep at least 300 mm of space above the enclosure and at least 400 mm below it free for cooling and servicing.
- Tighten the M6 mounting screws of the bracket to 5 Nm.
- On the DC side, use only the supplied positive and negative connectors; the conductor cross-section is 4-6 mm2.
- Strip the AC output cable over 17-19 mm and tighten the conductors to 2.8-3.2 Nm.
- Fit an AC output switch: for the 8K version a 3-phase circuit breaker of 25 A at >=415 V AC.
When mounting, always follow the manufacturer’s official installation manual and the applicable regulations.
