SolarEdge Power Optimizer P801 (P801-4RM4MRY)

The SolarEdge P801 is a powerful dual-module optimizer that lets you connect two solar panels to a single optimizer.
Ideal for commercial roofs and residential installations with high-power modules: fewer components, neater cabling and still
module-level MPPT for maximum kWh. With SafeDC™ the string voltage automatically drops to a safe level when the system is switched off or the grid fails.

Application & compatibility

• Suitable for two PV modules per optimizer (high-power 60/72/120/144 half-cut modules).
• Compatible with SolarEdge 3-phase commercial inverters.
  • Install at least 14 optimizers (28 solar panels) with a 16, 17, 25, 27.6 33.3 or 40k inverter, and no more than 30 optimizers (60 solar panels).
  • Install at least 15 optimizers (30 solar panels) with a 30k inverter, and no more than 30 optimizers (60 solar panels).
  • A string may not exceed 11250wp.
• Use the P801 on arrays where you want to limit the number of optimizers without giving up monitoring and safety.
• According to the compatibility matrix it may be combined in one string with P600, P650, P700, P701 and P730 power optimizers.

Installation tips

1. Mounting – fix the optimizer to the rail or frame; leave ventilation space underneath the panel.
2. Connecting – connect two identical modules per P801; mind the polarity and use MC4-compatible connectors only.
3. Cabling – route the longer positive lead neatly to the next position; respect the minimum bending radius.
4. String design – design in line with the SolarEdge guidelines (cold-weather Voc, max. string power and minimum string length).
5. Commissioning – follow the SolarEdge procedure; map the modules and check the SafeDC behaviour and string values before switching on.
