SolarEdge Power Optimizer P950
The SolarEdge P950 is a powerful optimiser for one or two (high-power or bifacial) PV modules connected in series. It maximises energy yield per panel, reduces mismatch losses and adds panel-level safety and monitoring—ideal for commercial rooftops and large-scale installations.
Why choose the P950?
- Maximum yield per panel thanks to module-level MPPT (efficiency up to 99.5%).
- Longer strings, fewer components and therefore lower BOS costs.
- SafeDC™: automatic voltage reduction to ~1 V per optimiser upon shutdown for added safety.
- Panel-level monitoring for rapid fault diagnosis and reduced downtime.
- IP68 and −40 °C to +85 °C—performs effortlessly in harsh conditions.

Design & compatibility
- For one or two PV modules in series (including high-power/bifacial).
- For use in strings with P-series optimisers (P800p/P850/P950/P1100) and SolarEdge 3-phase inverters (SE16K and larger).
- Typical string limits: minimum ~14 and maximum 30 optimisers per string (depending on inverter/grid).
Installation tips (for the installer)
- Mount the optimiser using a single mounting point; route cables neatly and without tension.
- Check the Voc at the lowest design temperature and remain below the 125 V limit per input.
- Ensure MC4 connectors are fully engaged (click/pull test) and check polarity and insulation resistance.
- Route strings by orientation/shadow zone to separate MPP channels on the SolarEdge inverter.
- Avoid unnecessary heat: install away from the hottest zones where possible; take into account thermal derating > ~70 °C.
Application
Perfect for commercial rooftops and ground-mounted installations with long strings, mixed orientations or (partial) shading. The P950 delivers more kWh per m², enhances safety and simplifies maintenance through panel-level monitoring.
