SolarEdge RS485 extension set plug-in (SE1000-RS485-IF)

With the SE1000-RS485-IF, you can add an additional RS485 port to your SolarEdge inverter.
Ideal if you want to connect a second RS485 application in addition to the Modbus energy meter
(e.g. a data logger or a building management system). The plug-in is clicked into the communication slot of the inverter
and provides a second, galvanically isolated RS485 bus for reliable wired communication.

Installation tips

  1. Switch off the power – de-energise the inverter; wait until DC/AC is completely switched off.
  2. Plug in – Snap the RS485 card into the communication slot and secure according to the manual.
  3. Wiring – Keep A→A and B→B consistent; use shielding and earth at one end.
  4. Termination – 120 Ω at both ends of the bus (no termination at intermediate devices).
  5. SetApp – Set the connection (RS485-2): Modbus, correct baud rate/parity and unique slave address(es).
Bright green tip: Preferably use the integrated RS485 for the Modbus measuring device (export limitation)
and connect other RS485 devices to the extension port. In this way, you keep the critical measuring loop as short and interference-free as possible.
