Growatt hybrid inverter SPH3000 single-phase

With the Growatt SPH3000 1-phase hybrid inverter, you can take an important step towards the future. The electricity generated by the solar panels that is not consumed at the time of generation (direct self-consumption) can be fed back into the grid, but can also be stored in a home battery! In this way, we can utilise the energy generated on a sunny day in the evening hours. This hybrid inverter from Growatt is able to connect the grid, the solar panels and the battery. The beauty of this hybrid inverter system is that the inverter also works well without a battery. So you can start by connecting it to the grid alone and then add a GBLI low-voltage battery with 6.5kwh in the foreseeable future with the included GBLI low-voltage cable set. If 6.5 kWh is not enough, you can use the parallel GBLI 6.5 kWh low- voltage cable set to connect a second GBLI 6.5 low-voltage house battery to double the storage capacity.

Growatt SPH3000 1-phase hybrid inverters are fully-fledged hybrid inverters. They have a UPS function, which stands for Uninterrupted Power Supply. This means that the inverter can switch almost seamlessly between an emergency power supply and a normal AC connection. This means that in most cases, for example, a server will simply remain switched on in the event of a power failure, provided the battery is sufficiently charged to supply the emergency power circuit. Note: When using the emergency power supply, the NEN requires that you are also physically completely disconnected from the grid so that you cannot accidentally feed power back into the grid when work is being carried out on the cables in the street. To do this, use an automatic transfer switch for a 1-phase mains connection and an automatic transfer switch for a 3-phase mains connection.

In order for the SPH inverter to work properly with a battery, current transformer terminals or a Growatt Smart Meter 1-phase in the case of a 1-phase grid connection and a Growatt Smart Meter 3-phase in the case of a 3-phase grid connection must be connected. Install this at the very beginning of the meter box so that it can measure all incoming and outgoing energy! As a result, the inverter knows when electricity is being fed back into the grid and can use the settings to determine whether the battery needs to be charged or discharged.

Various priorities can be specified for the Growatt SPH single-phase hybrid inverters. Switching between these modes can take place on the basis of preset schedules. It is therefore not a fully dynamic system based on electricity prices.

1. Load first: This mode ensures that the solar power generated is sent to the consumers in the house first. The surplus electricity generated is used to charge the battery. When the battery is full, the rest is fed back into the grid.
2. Battery first: The solar power generated is used to charge the battery first. If this is successful, the rest can be supplied to the consumers in the house. If there is any residual electricity, this is fed back into the grid.
3. Grid first: This setting ensures that all the electricity generated is fed directly into the grid.

The Growatt SPH3000 1-phase hybrid inverter has no mechanical fan or transformer, making it very quiet, and has 2 MPP trackers. This means that 2 “strings” connected in series can be connected, which do not influence each other, e.g. in the event of shading. This is ideal if, for example, the lower half of the roof receives sun later than the upper half, or if only one half of the roof is shaded. You can connect up to 8000 watts peak to this inverter! The moment you generate more than 3000 watts, the surplus is capped.

The battery that you can connect to this inverter has a maximum direct current output of 3000 watts, a voltage range of 42 to 59 volts and a maximum continuous input current of 66 amps. You can programme the charging and discharging time yourself.
