The SolarEdge Home Battery 48V Wide (BAT-05K48) is the low-voltage battery module that works seamlessly with the SolarEdge Home Hub three-phase inverters. Thanks to the direct DC coupling, you store solar energy very efficiently, so you can make the best use of it later for self-consumption and back-up. Each module delivers 4850 Wh of usable energy and you can easily expand the system to a maximum of 4 modules, together good for 19.4 kWh. Moreover, this module combines perfectly with a SolarEdge Home Hub 10.0 kW 3-phase inverter for a complete storage system.

Safe LFP technology with high efficiency

Lithium-ion LFP with a peak round-trip efficiency above 95.4%

This battery module uses lithium iron phosphate (Li-Ion LFP), a chemistry known for its safety and long service life. Moreover, the module achieves a peak round-trip efficiency of more than 95.4%, so hardly any energy is lost between storing and using. A single module continuously delivers 2825 W charging and 4096 W discharging; with several modules this rises to 5000 W. In addition, SolarEdge offers a 10-year factory warranty and the cells are extensively tested according to IEC 62619, UN38.3 and UL9540A. That way you benefit from reliable storage for years to come.

Robust design for indoor and outdoor installation

IP65 protection and quiet, natural cooling

Thanks to the IP65 protection rating (NEMA 3R), you can place the SolarEdge Home Battery 48V Wide both indoors and outdoors, protected against water and dust. The module cools entirely by natural convection and therefore runs extremely quietly, at less than 25 dBA at a distance of 1 metre. Furthermore, the battery works reliably within an operating temperature of -10 to +50 °C, so it does its job even in changing weather conditions. On top of that, you connect the modules to each other without loose cables via the internal “Quick Connect”, which greatly simplifies installation.

Installation and mounting in practice

What to watch out for during installation

• Stack a maximum of 4 modules into one tower; only 1 tower per inverter is permitted.
• Place the module on the mandatory floor stand on a stable, level surface.
• Keep at least 30 cm of free space at the sides and 30-50 cm above the tower for cooling.
• Avoid installation in direct sunlight and do not install in living areas or bedrooms.
• Tighten the M4x10 fixing screws on both sides to 2 Nm, as the installation guide prescribes.
• Switch off every module and the top cover before you connect the DC, earth and communication cables.

For mounting you need the matching SolarEdge Home Battery 48V Wide accessories kit with floor stand and top cover for each battery tower. Always follow the manufacturer’s official installation manual and the applicable regulations as well.
