SolarEdge Power Optimiser S440

The Solardege Power Optimiser S440 is an advanced optimiser that provides panel-level power optimisation, specially designed for use with SolarEdge inverters. So you get the most out of your solar panels, even with shifting shadows.

With an efficiency of 99.5%, the S440 prevents any loss caused by ‘mismatch’, ranging from product tolerances to shading. This allows you to exploit the full potential of your solar panels and get the most out of your investment. In addition, the Solaredge power optimiser s440 detects abnormal temperatures of connected connectors, preventing potential safety issues. It also offers voltage cut-off at panel level, providing extra safety for installers and firefighters.

The Solaredge Power optimiser S440 is designed to make installation easier. Cable management is therefore simplified, and the optimiser can be easily mounted with 2 self-tapping screws, or the optimiser rail mounting kit. just a single bolt.

This power optimiser is also compatible with bi-facial solar panels, giving you even more options for generating renewable energy.

Complete your PV system design! Combine the SolarEdge Power Optimiser S440 with a SolarEdge 1-phase or 3-phase inverter for optimal performance. The S440 can be used for both short and long strings, offering maximum flexibility when designing your solar power system. Please note the following rules for string design:

• Solaredge 1-stage inverter: minimum 8 solar panels with power optimisers in a string capturing sunlight, maximum 25. Maximum 5700 watt peak on a string.
• Solaredge 3-stage inverter: minimum 16 solar panels with power optimisers in a string capturing sunlight, maximum 50. Maximum 11250 watt peak.
• Solaredge Short string inverter: minimum 9 solar panels with power optimisers in a string capturing sunlight, maximum 20. Maximum 5625 watt peak.

Important to know: Solaredge does not recommend combining the P and S series optimisers in the same string unless it is an expansion of an existing installation. This is because the S series optimisers have more monitoring capabilities (Senseconnect technology) than the P series, and those extra functionalities may be lost. So make sure you equip your inverter with the latest firmware version when you mix optimisers.
