The Solarstell Connect back plate landscape is a mandatory part of the Solarstell Connect landscape mounting system, because of the wind load. Fix it with 2 cladding screws on the outermost base elements, and 1 screw per shared base element.

Every solar panel needs one back plate.

It is possible that the back plate is longer than the panel. In a row you can simply slide the back plates into each other, but with a single panel this is not possible. In that case you can grind a small piece off the back plate, which leaves your warranty on the item intact.

Solarstell Connect back plate

The Solarstell Connect back plate landscape is an essential part that affects the wind load of the mounting system. Prevent the wind from getting behind the solar panels and choose a solid mounting system for your solar panels! Every solar panel needs one back plate. With an east-west mounting system no back plates have to be installed, because the opposing solar panel blocks the wind sufficiently.

Fit the back plate as the second to last part. The Solarstell base element has tabs at the bottom of the rear upright. Clamp it in there and fix it at the top with a Solarstell cladding screw.
