Solarstell Connect base element Landscape XL – MPN 500175
The Solarstell Connect base element Landscape XL (MPN 500175) with a length of 134 cm is the foundation of the Connect XL mounting system for solar panels on flat roofs. This base element forms the supporting structure on which you place the panels in landscape, with space for ballast and a smart click/coupling design so that you can build rows and segments quickly.
The system is intended for flat roofs with common roof coverings and a limited roof pitch. Thanks to the modular design it is a great choice for both installers and DIY enthusiasts who want to build neatly and reproducibly.
Compatibility: panels, roof and arrangement
- Arrangement: single landscape (long side down)
- Panel width: approximately 1130–1150 mm (XL)
- Panel length: approximately 1663–2126 mm (depending on configuration and accessories)
- Frame height: 30 mm or 35 mm
- Roof pitch: 0–5°
- Application: flat roofs (always check the load-bearing capacity and ballast according to the project calculation)
Very important: the correct side plate set is mandatory
For this base element you need a specific side plate set. These are essential for a correct edge finish and wind deflection at the sides of the field.
- Connect XL side plate left – MPN 500135
- Connect XL side plate right – MPN 500136
Please note: these are individual parts. Order them along when you want to create a complete row/field finish (certainly at the field edges).
What exactly is a base element?
The base element is the load-bearing “rail” part on which you position the panels. You use several base elements per row and couple them through into a segment/field. You then finish the system with ballast, back plates and side plates, and mount the panels with the correct clamps.
What else do you usually need besides the base element?
A base element is one building block. For a complete arrangement you often also need (depending on the project plan):
- Ballast trays (and the correct ballast weight according to the calculation)
- Back plates / rear wind deflectors
- Side plates left/right (MPN 500135/500136)
- End caps
- Mid and end clamps matching your frame height (30/35 mm)
- Friction mats or raising/levelling blocks if required (depending on the roof type)
Installation tips
- 1. Always work from a project plan
Preferably use a layout plan/project plan from a calculator or calculation. That way the positions, edge zones and ballast are correct. - 2. A clean and level roof
Sweep the roof clean where the feet will be placed. Dirt and small stones reduce stability and can damage the roof covering. - 3. First align the base elements, then couple them
Start with a tight starting point, check squareness and spacing, and only then couple them through. Good alignment saves hassle later on with clamps and back plates. - 4. Do not forget the side plates
For this base element you need 500135 (left) and 500136 (right) for the sides. Put them on your materials list, otherwise you will be missing exactly that “finishing step” at the end. - 5. Ballast according to the calculation
Ballast is not a matter of feeling, but of calculation. Stick to the specified weights and positions per tray.
