Enphase IQ8+ Microinverter

The Enphase IQ8+ microinverter is fully geared to a smart energy grid. The IQ8+ therefore meets the requirements of complex electricity grids with regard to voltage management and frequency decoupling. The Enphase IQ8+ can be updated remotely by means of the Envoy S, so it keeps meeting the requirements of a developing electricity grid. Monitoring per panel is no problem at all with the Envoy S Metered monitoring module.

The great thing about these microinverters is that they are prepared for island operation in software. Please note that you need the IQ system controller to make this work properly and safely.

The Enphase IQ8+ inverters are extra fire-safe because they carry much lower voltages, and they are equipped with a rapid shutdown system by means of the required Q-relay.

The Enphase IQ8+ microinverter has a maximum output current of 300 watts at peak moments. You can connect up to 440 watt peak to it without any problem, but the watts generated above 300 will then be capped.

Suitable for solar panels with 54 (or 108 half) , 60 (or 120 half) and 72 (or 144 half) cells.

Please note! On a 25 amp grid connection a group of no more than 16 amps may be installed (1/3 selectivity). These microinverters produce 1.30 amps each. So a maximum of 12 solar panels may be placed on the 16 amp group. With a slightly larger system, two cables have to be run to the meter cupboard, each with its own fuse. The maximum amperage that may be placed on a 40 amp main fuse is 25 amps, so that comes down to a maximum of 19 panels on this main fuse. If you have a 3×25 amp grid connection, you can therefore connect a maximum of 3×19, which is 57 solar panels, equal to an inverter capacity of 17100 watts.

If you make a string, keep in mind in your design that you would rather not place more than 8 panels in a row behind each other, because the monitoring can start to falter. Prefer to make T-splits and more strings, so the data flow is restricted as little as possible.

The IQ8 cannot be combined with the IQ7 series. The IQ8 has to be fitted with an Envoy-S Standard or Envoy-S Metered gateway.

Please note! The warranty on these inverters only applies if an Envoy and a relay are connected to them!
